It turns out that get Making it shine was a challenge, and while it looks as outrageous as you’d expect, I discovered that I like it for a different reason.

I’ll talk about glow-in-the-dark below, but to even think about using the Nomad’s Sport Band, it had to at least come close to the comfort of the Milanese Loop. I’m very pleased to say yes and it’s an interesting alternative to Apple’s Sport Band. The fluoroelastomer rubber material is surprisingly thick and therefore very durable. I could wear it for any sport or activity and not worry about it.
It attaches to your wrist using a metal pin and hole system, and the holes cleverly run the entire length of both ends of the band, ensuring there’s plenty of airflow and plenty of adjustability. You have to tuck the end of the strap under the other, but I found it easy to get the right amount of tension. I’ve certainly never noticed it getting hot or sweaty, and while it’s a little thicker than I personally prefer to wear at night, I doubt it would cause any discomfort. Best of all, it met my top priority for any watch band: going almost unnoticeable on my wrist throughout the day.
Nomad’s Coolest Shine Yet
This is the third glow in the dark apple watch strap Nomad has launched and is in a fantastic Icy Blue color. When not glowing, the band takes on an almost off-white color with just a hint of cool mint blue, and it’s really quite special. It’s not a flashy blue, even when it shines, which is why it goes with most outfits. The Nomad Sport Band isn’t sleek like the Milanese Loop and has a more rugged look than the Apple or Casetify alternative, making it the most casual of these three great bands.
The part that glows in the dark is In fact fun, but it has taken some effort and patience to make it work for me. . It’s currently winter in the UK where I live and sunshine is not very common. Because it’s cold, my wrists are almost always covered in multiple layers of clothing, which means my Apple Watch stays hidden most of the time.
To give the Nomad Sport Band a fighting chance, I left it on the windowsill all day, and finally got to see it glow after night fell. It looks excellent. Not too bright, but bright enough for everyone to notice on your wrist. It’s an even glow, with no hot spots or dull patches, and the Icy Blue shade gives it a sci-fi feel. tron-Similar appearance that I adore. The previous version in lime green was not to my liking, but this one is perfect. It is not a band for someone who does not want to attract attention, since people willpower notice it.
It took a while and some effort to give the Nomad Sport Band enough sunlight to charge it, but once the watch was back on my wrist and hidden away, the glow unfortunately soon faded. It’s true that right now it doesn’t get sunlight all day (not even close) and it’s still very new, so the time it shines may change accordingly as conditions change. Oh the joy of winter in the UK, but the glow-in-the-dark Nomad Sport Band really managed to brighten things up.
Is it worth buying?
At the time of writing, some versions of the limited edition Icy Blue glow-in-the-dark Sport Band are still available on Nomad’s website, and given that previous limited versions were completely sold out, I’d say if you want one It would be best to get one soon. It’s also worth it. It’s more than just a fun, sparkly watch band because of Nomad’s attention to detail, from ensuring the shine is consistent across the entire band to not allowing any additional treatments needed to affect the band’s usual high level of comfort.
Nomad also doesn’t charge extra for the Apple Watch’s limited-edition glow-in-the-dark band, and It’s yours for $60. Unfortunately, the smaller 41mm/42mm version is sold out at Nomad, but you can still purchase the 46mm/49mm version which fits larger Apple Watch models and the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Nomad’s brilliant Icy Blue Sport Band will enter my regular Apple Watch band rotation, but I think I’ll save it for the summer months, when both it and I have a better chance of seeing some sun.
